Thanksgiving With The Family Friends

Hello, its blogging time again and its Thanksgiving once again. To celebrate for todays blog, I though I'd talk about my Thanksgiving dinner this year because it was the first, as far as I know anyway, Thanksgiving dinner we had outside of our house. That because some family freinds invited us over for dinner.

Though I say it was dinner we didn't actually show up until 3PM. though to be fair thats seems to be thde norm for my family. Anyway by 3PM we got in the truck loaded up with the three food items we were bringing (Some Apple Baked Beans, a tray of Cornbread, and some Chocolate Cream Pie), and took the vary short drive to Lee and Amanda's house down the street. and when we arived we were gretted I got to meet some of their relatives and after some formal chit chat we all grabbed our plates. I started off with the most basic: A turkey slice and a sweet roll

My plate

But off course, I didn't stop there. I then moved on to something that I never thought I would be eating: Sweet Potato Casserole. Now in case you didn't know, I actually don't like Sweet Potato, So you can imagine I was hesitant to have some. But then Lee encouraged me and also because it was baked by his grandmother (Who they affectionately nickname Nanny) I felt bad for not not eating it, so I grabbed a small portion. Surprisingly I really enjoyed it for what it was! It didnt tatse like most Sweet Potato things I've had in the past. I think its because the marshmallow and other ingredients mask the regular flavor it.

After another sweet role, some of the corn bread, and 2 more turkey slices, I got to say hi to their kitten. her name is Penelope, and she is one of the cutest fuzzballs ive seen!

Penelope the Kitten

They have other cats and a Chihuahua named Mimi as well, but I couldn't help but play with Penelope for at least an hour! But I did eventually stop to try some some Pecan Pie. I also really enjoyed this and would love to have some more in the future. After playing with Penelope a little more, I moved on the the Chocolate Cream Pie. This has always been a staple of hour Thanksgiving dinner's, and this was no exception. It was rich, creamy, and has all the good features of Chocolate Cream Pie.

After we were all done with our meals we spent the rest of the day having some nice conversations and watching some sports before finally going home

Overall it was a nice visit and I hope we can do this again sometime in the future. But until then, Happy Thanksgiving, and as always, Thanks for reading! See you next time!
